small accomplishments, BIG RELIEF

It's funny how much my life has changed over the last 4 months. Just when I got into a rythum with Aubrey, I started watching Brogan when Aubrey was 5 weeks old. Then it was back to work 50% of the time when she was six weeks old. Now Justin is back in school to get his administrative credential on Wednesday nights and all day Saturday... and well sometimes I feel like we never stop :) With life so hectic, all the small accomplishments we make feel like a HUGE weight off our shoulders. For example, on Tuesday when Brogan and Aubrey were both napping, I was able to clear all the baby toys off the carpet and actually vacuum! I took a picture right after Brogan woke up because I knew it wouldn't stay clean for long! Justin also got some much needed yard work done today when he took out a willow bush that was too close to the house and was getting way too big. Another thing to cross of the honey do list! I think our greatest accomplishment this week though, was getting Aubrey to sleep a full 8 hours a night in her own bed! Whew, it's about time huh? I think she actually likes it because there is plenty of room for her to stretch out on her side. Daddy captured this picture when he was unwrapping her to get her ready to go to Auntie's house this morning. So squeezable :) Wow, we've been pretty productive this week.

New Parents...

4 1/2 months... That's new enough. And each day I feel like we're learning something new. Finally, I feel like I'm getting the hang of it (thanks to a little advise from The Baby Whisperer--and just about everyone else on the planet :) ). Yeah, I know you're supposed to read these books before you have babies, but I was lazy and anti-schedule.. and well poor little Aubrey was the one who suffered. I really think she would have continued on her "self-developed" schedule had it not been for the Christmas chaos and then our trip to Washington.

To say the leas
t, when we came home in early January, she was all out of whack and that poor baby just wanted to know what to expect next. ...So came our attempt at a routine- everyday life gets better... If you want a glimpse at what our life was like (or quickly approaching) read the "example problem" on pg 254-255 of The Baby Whisperer. Now our little one is slowly drifting off to sleep in her crib and each day she seems happier.... thanks to some much needed rest and a predictable routine. She's growing like a weed and her newest loves are her rolly polly legs.

She's such a happy little girl! (Well, except every week when we bring her to nursery at church, but that's another post) :)
