Oh what a beautiful day! MID 80's...FINALLY!
I only had Aubrey today, so I really wanted to try to enjoy every minute of the day. I originally intended on going to the Bridge to help with the final clean up, but CC had to work, so I had no one to watch Aubrey. Instead, Aubrey and I took off on the bike at 7:30 this morning. We passed all the school kids, and the crossing guard even helped us across the street :) I bought a butternut squash the other day and decided to make soup and pork chops for dinner. So the grocery store was our first destination.

We parked the bike (my new compact bike-not the old limo :) ) and started things off on the right note with a carousel ride. Then Aubrey was a big helper as she pushed the cart through the store. We got all of the ingredients we needed and we were off to our second destination.
We headed across the street to the Great Harvest Bread Co. to get some fresh bread. Unfortunately, they only had warm morning baked goods, but not the bread I wanted. I'll have to head back there later. (I do however think this would make for a great morning meeting spot with some friends...maybe we could meet on our bikes :) ) We loaded back up and headed to the park for some play time.
The air was cool and crisp and it was the perfect way to start our day! Right now I can smell the yummy goodness of butternut squash soup cooking, and I think that will be the perfect way to end our day.

Hmm.. I know where I am going for dinner. ;) Just kidding.. I am glad that you love your new bike and the weather is nice enough for bike rides.
The carousel was worth it for that DARLING picture. Loved that you traveled with your camera and shared your morning with us. Now can you share the recipe for your soup?
Barbie! What a fun day! You were out of the house by 7:30? Wow. I bet Aubrey loved having you to herself. I'm impressed- a meal planned at the beginning of the day, the park, grocery store, exercise. Wow.
What a fun day! My mom and dad both bought brand new bikes...so I can come and meet you all too. (If only Gracie would ride in the back with Aubrey. We should try again.)
Love the bread place! Love the blended latte and the five or seven grain bread, mmmmmm! Oh and I buy stuff in there too, cuz it's so cute and I am a sucker!
What a cute mother-daughter day.
sounds like bliss! good for you, riding your bike. I, unfortunately, will not be meeting or joining anyone on a bike, LOL!!!
now that all sounds just LOVELY. Exactly the kind of morning I would love!! Good for you at getting out there on your bike, and how wonderful that you got to spend a morning with just your sweet little one. That one-on-one time is so needed. I bet she was loving it too!!
how did your butternut squash soup turn out?? It sounds so gourmet!
How fun for you and Aubree to have a little outing together!
Okay, Lorie will probably snuff at me saying this but MAYBE, just MAYBE I'll join you all one of these days. I totally have the trailer but am lame about actually getting out of my house before 11am and also am freaked out to ride on the street. Hmmm. But you never know. Although poor Lorie has literally showed up on my doorstep and I've yet to go. But you are making me a bit jealous of this fab. morning..
YAY YAY bike weather. oh we would be such a sight with our babes and our bikes and trailers! we must do it!!! tuesday???
What a fun day!
It was nice to meet you today. Your daughter is so cute!
How did your soup turn out? I have a butternut squash and I'm not sure what to do with it. If it was good I'd love to get the recipe.
