We decorated for winter with some seasonal snowflakes! Aubrey is always asking to do a "project". She really loves creating, and I love it too. However, sometimes, at the end of a long week, I feel so exhausted, the idea of figuring out a project can be rather daunting. Lately, I've been trying to keep it simple so that it still feels fun. A little paper, some scissors and some glitter and we had a good hour and half of fun.
Before my mom came to visit, she bought groupon tickets to the downtown ice skating rink's "Winter Wonderland" event. We all had so much fun! We skated, played with snow, visited with Santa, did some crafts, and drank hot cocoa. Thanks, mom, for a fun night!

CALM LIGHTS
We went on our annual family trip to CALM lights with the Thompson crew. Last year, we went two days before I gave birth! Some of the highlights were the fastest carousel ever, the train ride, the lights, but most of all, the family. :)

DISNEYLAND
Just when we were sick of cold weather activities, we headed to Disneyland for a little day trip. 80+ degree weather was the perfect cure for the cold weather blues! Aubrey is such an adrenaline junkie. If she's tall enough for the ride, she ready! Space mountain, Tower of Terror, Splash Mountain, you name it, she's done it!

NEW YEAR'S EVE
On New Year's Eve, my sister and her hubby had been invited to a party, so we took her kiddos for the night. Aubrey was SOOO excited to have a slumber party. Daddy took her to the store to buy all the party "musts"...hats, noisemakers, snacks, etc. She made a New Year's sign and we planned our big bash with Papa CC. The kids were so excited to be together and have fun at Papa's house. When we got home, we tucked them all into our bed and let them watch a show and then they crashed within 30 minutes! We figured it's the first of many New Year's Eve sleepovers since our baby was born on New Year's Day!
