I still write plenty of blogs in my head, they just never make it on here. Sometimes I wish I had a private blog so I could process all of my ramblings, but I can't even keep up with this blog. Instead I do these catch up posts where I plug in all the pictures in attempt to document life. It's as close to scrapbooking as it gets around here. ;)
Preschool Graduation
It's hard to process the fact that Aubrey is headed to Kindergarten next year, but she is. Seems like her first day of preschool was just yesterday. Preschool has really been a growing process for Miss Aubrey. The first year, she wouldn't eat, pee or play. She sat by the teacher ALL THE TIME and waited for me to pick her up. By the time she graduated, she LOVED school! She looked forward to playing with her friends, picked out special outfits for preschool and had adjusted so well. She loved all three of her teachers, Miss Maria, Miss Barb, and Miss Emma. Some of her closest friends were Rylee R., twins- Abbigail and Rileigh, and Nevaeh. Some of her favorite activities at preschool were rhyming words, bingo dobber art, playing in the sandbox, and counting. She looked like such a big girl at graduation and did such a great job singing her songs with motions and all!
Beating the Heat
Not only does summer mean the end of school, it also means the beginning of the blazing summer heat. Around here we spend a lot of time in the water. Here are some of our favorite ways to beat the heat:
Papa's pool! We escape to Papa's house a lot...in the winter and summer, but the pool definitely is a favorite during our hot summers.
Backyard sprinkler fun!
Popsicles!
Neighborhood "carwashes". So thankful to have a lot of kids on our street...including cousins! Family fun for everyone!
This year we joined my dad for the Porterville fair. The kids loved being spoiled by Papa!
Juliet even did the bungee jumping! WILD CHILD! ;)
The heat has certainly hit us full force now, but we had beautiful spring weather up until the second week of June. During that time we loved hanging out in the front yard and soaking in the great weather. Frisbee was a family favorite.
Celebrating Someone Special
Grandma Jean
Justin's grandma turned 85 and we had a fabulous celebration at his Aunt Marti's house. Grandma Jean is strong, healthy and and inspirational role model for all the women in her family! We were so thankful that we were able to celebrate this birthday milestone with her. We enjoyed spending time with the family and the chickens LOL ;)
Julie and Molly
Friendship in your adult years can be tricky, but I'm thankful that I've been blessed with wonderful friends like Julie and Mandy! We can't wait to meet baby Molly!
Christian
I'm also thankful for the friendships that have endured the test of time! We love that Megan lives close enough that we get to visit with her and her sweet family a few times each year. We were especially excited to celebrate Christian's half birthday (his birthday is right before Christmas) with him at Wild Water Adventures!
I'm truly blessed to have the most amazing men in my life. My own "fathers" and my husband are all examples of sacraficial love. They serve their family with all that they are and I'm greatful for all they do.
This is Father's Day morning at church with Papa CC and Justin.
