It's time to plant those spring bulbs. Well, actually, it's a little past the right time, but in our mild climate it won't really matter.
Every year Justin plants about 300 bulbs in our yard. In the spring, it looks just beautiful. Some of the bulbs come back each year, but the ones that don't, we're sure to replace. This year we added some white narcissus, red anemones, yellow daffodils (or as they would say in the Secret Garden- daffidowndillys) and pink and purple ranaculas (sp?). I must admit we cheat. Justin puts an extension cord on his electric drill and uses a bulb auger bit to drill all the holes. While he's working on the bulb planting, I'm usually picking weeds, clearing out the summer flowers like zinnias, and planting pansies and snapdragons for the winter. Yay for nice fall weather and beautiful spring gardens!
You still have time. Go buy some bulbs!

wow, that is a lot of bulbs! But oh-- your garden must be so gorgeous. I just planted some tulips the other day. It is so fun to have that to look forward to in the spring! I must go get some more too...
