There are those moments in life where you learn things the hard way. Obviously, parenting is not any different than the rest of life. Today I learned a parenting lesson. I wasn't actually the one who had to learn it the hard way, but my husband assured me that I BETTER have learned it. Thank goodness it was laugh worthy.
Since Aubrey was a wee babe, I would kiss her all over her face and then smooch her lips and say, "let's make out". Obviously, I did this in a mommy smothering kind of way. I never really thought of how others would view this or the events that could transpire when she was two. I still do it in a mommy smothering kind of way and Aubrey giggles as I smother her in kisses. Well today was the day. Justin took his little lady on a special outing to rent a movie of her choice. While in line, she was especially affectionate and leaned over to kiss all over daddy's face and said really loudly, "Daddy, let's make out!". How do you react to that??? Justin said that everyone around him looked at him like, "did she really say what I thought she said?" He tried to change the subject and then made to sure to call me on their way home to tell me NO MORE MAKIN' OUT!
A picture of them makin' out...for old time sake.

omigosh barbie, that is hysterical! totally cracking up here. this world is too gosh darn sensitive if you ask me:)
That is too cute and funny!
I can hardly wait for an Aubrey kiss! I leave from Lima in about 12 hours.
Hilarious. You guys are too cute!
That is TOO funny! I never really thinking about what I say. I mean, I don't say horrid things. But I run around telling Swee'Pea "I'm going to get your booty! I'm going to eat it up!" and then he laughs hysterically and I pinch his little booty and tickle him.
Great. Now he is going to repeat that and people are going to think I am some evil booty getter...
So funny! I get embarrassed changing Gracie's diaper in front of people. She always yells..."don't take my temperature!" (which she related to the glycerin supository I have used on occasion to help her poo.) It sounds like we torture her or something!!!
So funny! It sure makes you think about what you teach your kids that is hilarious in one situation and embarrassing in another!
Oh that is SO FUNNY.
HILARIOUS!!!! I couldn't stop laughing!
So funny. I guess you never really think about how other people would interpret what you say to your kids. (note to self. lol
Ok Barbie I am dying laughing over here! I think that is so darn cute! So many dads just are not affectionate with their daughters anymore; I think that is so darn cute and special. Let that girl make out =) Loved seeing you last night!
Too funny! It reminded me of when Annie was 2-3 years old and we were at the San Francisco Zoo. We had just left an exhibit when Annie announced (while sitting in her stroller) Daddy, I'm thirsty! I want a beer! Oh yes, the heads turned on that one too. Still not sure where that came from. I was and am not much of a beer drinker. However, she picked up on it somewhere.
