What do you think?

Click here to read the news story.

Did you hear about the high school humanities teacher who got suspended for doing a cheerleading routine in front of her class? It was spirit week and she is the high school's cheer coach.

What do you think about this?

As a teacher of older students and a teacher who's not afraid to show a little personality, I think this is OBSURD! She took 2 minutes out of class to have a little fun and it was basically the same thing you might see at a high school football game. Maybe it wasn't the right place to do it, but my students beg me to sing a song, tell them about my family or my favorite tv shows ALL the time. They just want to feel like they really know you. I would never do or talk about anything inappropriate, but I don't think she intended to either. I guess they want a bunch of stick in the mud teachers who lecture and rule with an iron fist. I'm just not that type of person.

Maybe you have a different perspective...please share it, I'd love to hear it :)

I think it is lame too.

As a fellow teacher...I think the whole thing is ridiculous. Why is it okay for her to do the cheer during practice, but not during class? Hopefully for this teachers sake...the cheer did go along with a lesson?!?!?

That is RIDICULOUS! I don't even have room to list all the totally random things I have done in front of my class to make them laugh, get them to pay attention when they have been distracted, or to loosen them up after a long day of testing. I talk in accents, make up and sing random songs about whatever we are doing, anything and everything I can think of to keep them paying attention for the long 6 1/2 hours of the school day...

Man... unless she did the cheer in lingerie, I think that is RiDiCuLoUs!!!

From what the news story shows I think the teacher was just trying to have fun with her students, and hopefully it had something to do with her lesson. Shes probably a great teacher. People just cant do anything anymore its crazy.
