A WILD time!

On Wednesday, we went up to Fresno to visit the Mills Family. It was so WONDERFUL to get to spend time with Megan and her family, as always. Although Christian and Aubrey are 3 months apart in age, they are almost exactly the same size and share the same blonde hair and blue eyes. They are also going through similar developmental milestones and issues. It was refreshing to discuss parenting with a woman that I love, respect and share so much history with. Woman are so relational and we need that time to connect with friends who can relate! Although the trip was mainly to spend time with Meg and her fam, we also got to go visit the Fresno Zoo. What a great zoo! Aubrey's favorite part was the petting zoo, although we didn't get to spend too much quality time in there because just after we arrived it was feeding time. She also liked watching others feed the giraffe, but was intimidated by it's long tongue when it was her turn to feed it. Her favorite part of the day was sharing cookies and a stroller with her pal Christian. They both were troopers and played well together considering neither of them got a nap ALL DAY LONG! They even enjoyed a bath before bed time.On our way home from Fresno we got to visit yet another one of our favorite families ( I'll just call them the C fam because mom is paranoid about too much info on the net :) ). Not only did we get to visit them at their house on Thursday, but we also RANDOMLY ran into them at the zoo on Wed. We knew we wanted to visit, but had not made plans yet because we didn't know how Aubrey would be handling life after our super exciting trip to the Mills fam. Anyways, the C's didn't even know we were going to be there, but we just happened to see them. SMALL WORLD! Aubrey had a blast playing with H & M and Justin and I enjoyed chatting, eating and watching A make her family secret biscotti. We're so glad we were able to stop by, but bummed that we left our camera in the car. These pictures are from a couple of weeks ago when the C's were in town for a cousin's soccer tournament.

I felt so blessed to have you guys here- to give up some time on your spring break to come see US- thanks! Man, you are so right about women being relational- it was a reminder for me, the time spent with you that I really DO need to be making some bigger steps toward making some good friends here. Also, I was writing up this corny email in my head last night but I may as well write it here. You and Justin are seriously amazing parents. It was so fun to watch you guys for a long period of time parenting Aubrey. Not that I was intentionally watching, but when you left, I just had such a great feeling...like, WOW- Aubrey has parents that absolutely ADORE her, and to mention are doing such an incredible job at all the little details- sleep, eating, words, loving on her, yeah...you know what I mean. I have a feeling you guys will have a lot of people looking to you for parenting advice someday!

Sounds like you had fun over Spring Break. We are hoping for a trip to Seattle to the zoo during Maggie's, we will see though we (Maggie and I) are also redoing her room. She picked out the bedding and all. I have to agree with the above comment about your parenting, if I had half your patience Id be a ton better mom!

PS-I want to post weekend pics but that would consist of kids vomiting and having diarrhea!
